Another day when Dave was gone (pioneer trek) during Christmas break I had stayed up WAY too late the night before reading. When I woke up I was cranky and already impatient with the kids. I dressed and fed them. But crankily. I was just too tired. I wanted to go back to bed. So I figured, what the hay, I have no obligations today and I don't want to be mean mommy all day so I'll just go back to bed. And I did! And the miracle was that I slept! The kids didn't fight or even try to wake me up. Two hours later I woke up to the boys busily working in my room. I sat up and looked around. At first glance my room, which had been tidy the night before, was a complete disaster! But taking a second look, I realized it wasn't a disaster at all. It was absolutely precious. Words really can't describe the deep love I feel for my boys. This is what they told me:
"MOM! Look! We made an apartment in your room so we can live with you while Daddy's gone! Here is our table:" Notice the snacks they got for themselves- 3 bags of chips and Yoohoos.

"Here Mom is a basket full of ALL our clothes (to the left of Mason)." Me: "Ohh, did you empty all your drawers into the tub?" "Yeah Mom!" And they had! All of Isaac's, Ethan's and Mason's pants, socks, undies, shirts, and pjs had been dumped into this huge tub.
"And here Mom is our play space and sleeping space." You can also see this "space" in the above picture to the right of the bed. The pillows divided space for each boy. In each divided part they had their personal toys or sleeping things.
"And Mom, here are some baskets of our toys and Daddy's photo frame that we can use as a calendar..."
"And look Mom! We even got your clothes out for you today!" They had picked out my outfit and carefully laid it on my bed for me. And they didn't even forget to add my knee brace!
Needless to say we had a wonderful day after this! Here are a couple of the sweeties sleeping in their "apartment" that night:

You must have been exhausted to sleep through the entire building of the apartment! What were you reading? I'm always looking for something new!
