Happy to be home
(but in the end I kinda liked that beard! Maybe when we go live in Alaska and he's a mountain man he will grow it back.)
Dave had a wonderful time on the trek. His assignment was trail boss- meaning he led 150 kids and adults pulling their handcarts through the Floridian wilderness for 3 days. Also, because of certain circumstances, he was pretty involved in many of the prepartions for the trek.
On returning home, Dave said that some if the scenery was the most beautiful scenery he had ever seen. For Dave to say that about anywhere but Alaska really means something. It was truly a great experience for him. He loved working with the people he met, and he enjoyed getting to know many youth and adults from our stake. He also learned many of the do's and dont's of leadership. The main thing that stood out to him is that we all need eachother. For any organization to function smoothly, fulfilling it's highest potential, everyone must do their part and everyone is equally important- no matter who they are or what their part is. Good stuff Davey, and we're glad you're home.

All of these shaving phases remind me of what Eric does. He grows his annual Christmas beard and then every day shaves some of it. The days he has handlebars or a mustache I can't even look at him. I much prefer the clean shaven end product and I'm glad you got Dave home and clean!
Scott wishes so bad he could grow a beard like that. When you got it, flaunt it Dave.
That is so sweet that your kids want to move in to your room. Hope fully 20 years from now, it won't be the same story right? Until then, enjoy those little roomies.
I really think we should try to hang out before we both move...whadya think?
