My Mom sent me a forward today entitled "April, can you relate to this?" I would have died. Literally. This can't be real can it?
A family was on holiday in Australia for a week and a half when husband, wife and their 15 year old son decided to go scuba diving. The husband is in the navy and has had some scuba experience. His son wanted a picture of his mum and dad in all their gear so he got the under water camera ready to go. When it came to taking the picture the dad realized that the son looked like he was panicking as he took it and gave the 'OK' hand sign to see if he was all right.
The son took the picture and swam to the surface and back to the boat as quick as he could so the mum and dad followed to see if he was OK. When they g ot back to him he was scrambling onto the boat and absolutely panicking. When the parents asked why he said 'there was a shark behind you.' The dad thought he was joking but the skipper of the boat said it was true but they wouldn't believe him. As soon as they got back to the hotel they loaded the picture onto the laptop and this is what they saw.

This cannot be real. Maybe I am a skeptic or just want to get scuba certified too bad.
Okay this was pretty cool but I was SOOOO freaked out about ever dipping a toe into the ocean again that I checked it out on scopes...you can check out any possible urban legend there. According to Snopes it is false.

Sorry to ruin the fun, but I am terrified of sharks but still want to enjoy the ocean.

After thinking about the story and looking at how close the shark appears (how could it not have bumped into them?) I agree with snopes. But I do think it is freaky fun to imagine "what if!" Wouldn't you just die?!!
I WOULD DIE and the shark would not even have to eat me to make that happen.

So, dad and I analyzed this last night and it can't be real. The light on the shark is sooo different than the light on the divers. But, fun to imagine ... fun???

even knowing it wasn't real, my heart has trouble beating properly. that is the one thing that has always freaked me out diving... the sharks.
so, what word WOULD someone use???
Okay so I just asked Jared's opinion on the reality of this picture and he said no way. I trust his info cause he knows oodles about sharks. Cool picture though..
