DROWN IN THE OCEAN, BIKE AND RUN, IN AN HOUR AND 20

Dave did his 2nd sprint triathlon last weekend. It was bright and early. We had the kids in the car were on our way by 5:15am! It was a gorgeous morning though and the excitement in the air was so fun. The race started with a swim in the ocean, then to the bikes, and last was the run.

Once we got there and Dave left to set up his stuff, the kids and I strolled on down to the beach. I was surprised to see rather large waves rolling in one after another. It was going to be a tough swim! It looked a little scary out there. I said a little prayer for Dave and we sat down and watched the sun rise.

7am the race started. When I saw Dave walking out of the water after his swim I knew he had been pummeled by a few waves and it must have been rough for him out there. (He later told us it was the hardest part of the race this time and he was grateful he hadn't drowned!) But like the man he is, he caught his breath and ran past his biggest fans, who were screaming and hollering for him, to the next stage. When he got to the rack where he'd left his bike it unbelievably was not there! Some meany-head had moved it to another rack for some unknown reason. Dave eventually found it and did great on the ride and made up some time.

When Dave got back from the ride and went to put his running shoes on, the same, or some other meany-head had moved his shoes to yet another random spot and slowed him down some more! But Dave did great on the run and finished his race in good time and great spirits. It was so fun being there to watch him! Go Dave!
His biggest fans, as mentioned above... well, all but one...
ps- Our Bishop was also doing the race so his family was there (the other cute kids above). It was fun having close friends there to be with and cheer on too.
