Okay, so that's old news since our anniversary was in April. But I don't want to forget about it because it was a good one. We got a babysitter and went to a restaraunt that we'd been eyeing for a while called The Sandollar. It's right on the river (headed towards Heugonot and Little Talbot Island State Parks) and it has a nice deck. It was fun and a beautiful evening. The food was just okay and that's my fault because I ordered fish, but I don't really like fish. Why do I do that? Caught up in the setting and romantic moment I suppose. Also, I am such a short person that I had to stack 3 plastic chairs on top of eachother so I could see the river over the wooden railing of the deck. I'm so grateful to have a husband who wasn't embarrassed by something like that. He's always encouraging. He never keeps me down, ever.
We finished dinner and went out to Dave's car in the parking lot where he opened the trunk and exposed a cooler he'd snuck in. Inside the cooler were some Rocket Pops, popcicles. You know, the red white and blue kind. These popcicles hold a special place in our hearts because when we were first getting acquainted in Alaska Dave really enjoyed eating them, especially the blue part which he called "sweet blue heaven." He began referring to me as his "sweet blue heaven" and it's stuck ever since. How gushy, I know. But I love it.
Then we got in the car with our popcicles and he handed me a booklet/card that he'd made for me. It's one of the nicest cards I've ever recieved. It was filled with beautiful photos of Alaska where we had fallen in love, and memories, and sweet phrases as sweet as "sweet blue heaven."
Then we drove up to this old bridge that crosses over where the intracoastal opens to the ocean. It's been made into a fishing pier and we enjoy taking walks across it with the family. It's really in the middle of nowhere and it's very peaceful. We explored the beach and skipped shells had a wonderful time just being together as the sun set.
And I thought that was all.
A few days later Dave came across some last minute tickets for sale to the Broadway Wicked. The timing was right so we called it our anniversary present to help us overcome guilty feelings of spending a decent amount of $. Seeing broadways is one of Dave's favorite things. He's very passionate about the music, I suppose because the music is very passionate. He picked this trait up from his sister Liz when he was just a young lad. But needless to say, Wicked was really a great show and has become one of my favorites. It was great too to have two dates in one week with the love of my life, and to have 2 celebratory nights of our 9 years together. Dave is certainly the best man for me.

Happy belated anniversary then! What a romantic evening. I didn't realize you saw Wicked too! Holy cow wasn't that awesome?! You know it's going to be in Denver in the fall and guess what, YOU"LL BE THERE! I've been trying to figure out how to take Matt when it comes back to FL (Tampa area at the first of the year).
I listen to the music every day in the car as I try to explain to Kai what is going on. Good luck with your closing this week. Made me sad to look at your house below but thankful you were able to sell. I'll miss seeing your cute little boys in primary each Sunday.
Sounds perfect. I'm glad you liked Wicked! I bet Isaac doesn't even remember listening to the music on the way to preschool when he was 4 (Damon doesn't. I had to tell him about how he and Isaac always wanted to listen to One Short Day). Love you!
You guys are such a cute couple. Dave is always so thoughtful, it is impressive.
We are going to wicked when it comes to Denver and I can't wait. a week before Mother's day brent kept telling me that he got me the best present ever and that everyone at work agreed. i went crazy trying to figure it out and for once i didn't. i was so excited when i opened the tickets to wicked. i love broadway too and since knowing me brent has gotten into it too.
