and loving the beach more

Yesterday, Saturday, we had quite the irresponsible family fun day. There was nothing too pressing that needed to be done, and if there was, we pushed it off for another day.
Isaac and Ethan had a primary activity in the morning. The one that Ethan prayed wouldn't be boring. (By the way, his prayer was answered). So after we dropped them off at the church Dave and I got to spend some time alone with little Mae-mae. We headed to the arbouretum for a nice hike. It was such a beautiful morning. And can you tell that spring is here? Mason couldn't get enough of throwing sticks and nut shells into the stream.

This is a cypress tree and some of it's "knees." A very cool Southern thing.

After our hike and picking up the boys, we got a coupon and ate lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. (Every time I eat Mexican I am reminded that it is just not my favorite food, unless I am in Mexico or eating fish tacos.) Then we headed to the beach again! This made it my 4th time in 3 days! Yahoo! Dave and I had date night Fri. night and spent it walking at the beach too. But Saturday with the kids we flew kites, explored, and Mason went swimming. Isaac and Ethan were wet up to their waists so maybe you can count that they did too. We had such a nice time! And we saw dolphins again! That always makes us happy.

Then we came home, showered up, and had waffles for dinner. Yummy. Dave read the kids books and then they were tucked and tuckered, into bed. Not surprisingly, it didn't take Dave and I too long to follow suit.

And we lived happily ever after.

The End
