Can you guess what fruit this is?

Wow. Driving the kids home from school today I took a detour around the block to give myself a few extra minutes of thought. (Once you get home and the banshees are unleashed there is no turning back.) I saw a wheelbarrow in a neighbors driveway. It was piled high with this fruit! And there was a sign saying "help yourself." Well, thank you, we don't mind if we do! The boys excitedly jumped out of the van and proceeded to fill up one of their backpacks. We headed for home. Now we had something to do! First the boys played with the fruit (Mason kept throwing one on the ground expecting it to bounce.) And then we made fresh squeezed lemonade! Can you believe these are lemons?!!!

For comparison-
Fruit on the left: grapefruit
Fruit on the right: HUGE wheelbarrow lemon

Oh my goodness. that is unbelieveable!! But how did it taste? That is so amazing. I want a lemon tree like that (or a neighbor like that). By the way I love the family picture. I haven't seen it because I always use reader to read your blog.

Man, that's impressive! I wish we had free, delicious fruit available in wheelbarrows as well. How cool is that?

I'm glad you posted. It's always fun to catch up with you guys. I just woke up from a dream about you. Nothing that makes any sense when I try to describe it, but fun to "see" you anyway. Hope things are going well! Miss you!

Oh my....those are beautiful! We had some lemon trees at my house growing up, but they never got that big. My dad would love those(he makes the best lemonade)

When I saw the pictures I was hoping they were grapefruit from your tree! I've been wondering if yours survived the hard freezes lately...

Your blog is quite entertaining! You have some amazing ideas for your kids. Are those couches the same ones from the condo? They look great in there with the pillows. How have you managed to keep them so clean?

I too was hoping these were your mature grapefruit. Grandpa would be amazed at the size of these Florida lemons!
