Okay, so I mentioned a few posts back about Ethan getting a new "cutie." For those of you who may not have heard, Ethan has a fettish, and always has as far back as I can remember, for soft, silky, fuzzy or furry things. These items can range from feathers, to silky fabric, to soft stuffed animals, eyebrows, hair and real animal fur. At any given time you may find Ethan with one of his cuties, sucking his tongue (don't ask me how he does that!), and zoning off thinking about who knows what. So anyway, I'd like to introduce you to Raccoonie, the newest and furriest member of the Ferguson household:
(notice ethan also has a feather in his fingers!)
Awesome eh? He almost looks real! Actually I believe the tail is real (kinda sick), but the body is made of rabbit fur. Oh what a find ol' Raccoonie was! Here's the story: The 3 boys and I were at Salvation Army for the 1/2 off sale they have every Wednesday. We had a couple things to purchase and got in the 5 mile long line. Bad news. It was lunch time and nap time and the wait was LONG. So as you can imagine the boys, especially crazy Mason, were starting to go berzerk in a big scene type of way. Mason threw a soccer ball we had into the glasses and dishes area and I knew we were in for trouble! So I frantically scanned the area looking desperately for anything that would distract and occupy the kids. And it must have been from heaven above, off in a corner, sitting on some plates that Mason hadn't broken yet, I spotted a striped furry thing with eyes. "Isaac! Quick! Go grab that furry thing!" And Raccoonie is what he came back with! It was love at first sight for both Mason and Ethan, but because Ethan is bigger and stronger, and has a fur fettish, he won the brawl. So after at least 30 minutes in line, we finally got to the counter to pay, and get this, Raccoonie was only $1!!! Wow, I love you 1/2 price Wednesdays! And Raccoonie, we sure love you too! (Even though you shed like a dog. Wait, isn't that one of the main reasons why we don't have a dog? Oh well, what you'll do to see your kids happy.)

That is so funny about his fettish! Kids are the weirdest with certain things. Like Jake only eating PB Crackers!

Love the pic with him posing head to head with it.
"Sup, Racooney."
"Sup, E-dawg."
"Yo, check this out. This woman wants to take our picture."
"That's cool. Make sure this chick knows we're a team and don't take crap from nobody."
"Straight up."

Does that mean that if your kids beg you'll get them a dog? Wow. I loved 1/2 off Wednesdays, too, but man, those lines were long!
i saw racoonie at church a couple weeks ago or maybe he had one that looked like racoonie
i jumped because i thought it was a real creature at first
does racoonie have a spring in his body? i used to have something that looked EXACTLY like that. but it had a large spring inside to shape the body. the best part was, he moved realistically when you moved the spring right. bought it from a magician. or a street performer. it looked so neat when he did it.
so is it springee or stuffed?
and that is a fun obsession.
It's a blog miracle! I have been trying to find you too! I miss you so much and it was so wonderful to look at your blog and get a little idea about how your perfect little family is! Are you in Florida? Is Dave an ortho? Oral Surgeon? I love that you have 3 boys like me! Am I going to be able to handle three? I will need your pep talks shortly (just like on the mission!) Your boys are gorgeous just like you. I am so glad to be in touch again. You are one of my favorite people ever!
Any contact with Sariah?
April,
You are too cute! I can envision the situation all too clearly. :) You're good, you don't get flustered, I would've been sweating and stressing, not good...
One of our kids had a love for one of his receiving blankets, which had kitties on it so he called it his "Kitty Cat Annie" It went everywhere with him !
One time, we were going to visit Don's parents and waiting in bumper to bumper traffic, he threw it out the window and a huge biker guy in leather from head to toe and tatoos everywhere, picked it up and gave it back as he was biking thru all the traffic...my kids still talk about how gently this big, rough looking guy, gave our son his Annie back as he said" Your baby dropped his blankie !"
His Kitty Cat Annie was finally retired by mutual agreement ( and watching the movie " Mr. Mom " where the kid in it gives up his "Woobie") to my hope chest and my son still asks if I still have it in there... Welcome to the world Raccoonie !
That picture of Ethan with Racoonie and the feather is hilarious.
