Follow the prophet follow the prophet...

We sure love the beach. When we need to relax, this is where you can find us. And it's been so nice having it so close to home (just a mere 5 minute drive or 20 min. bike ride, anyone want to visit?). Well, a few Fridays ago we headed out to a beach where you can take your car out and actually drive on the sand. With kids that is pretty convenient. They have signs that tell you where to park your car.
So we parked behind the sign and spent a couple hours enjoying the sun and water. We then noticed that the tide was coming in quickly and the waves were getting close to our beach chairs and car tires. So we moved back. A few minutes later we had to move back again. I turned around and noticed there was a real nice truck still letting the waves hit its tires. Hmmm, they will probably move soon. They have 4 wheel drive right? A few more minutes passed and we decided to pack up and get in the car, the tide was still coming in. I turned back and the truck was still there, the waves getting higher, almost up to the doors now. And people began gathering around.Oh, they'll still move it, won't they?

Come on! Somebody get the truck out!

And then we drove around the bend and couldn't believe what we saw next:

Yes, it's true.

You can't see so well in these pictures, but these were REALLY nice trucks! Makes ya sick doesn't it?

Moral of the story- follow the prophet. Listen to counsel and obey it. Sometimes we think we don't need to heed the warnings, we know better for ourselves and these things don't pertain to us anyway, right? And then we find our $30,000 truck stuck in the sand and submerged in a rising tide. Oops!

That is crazy! I always wondered if someone would actually let that happen. I wonder what they did?

I'm so glad you started a blog -- I've been wanting to keep in touch.

Those pictures are insane! I can't believe so many people lost cars that day... good gospel connection. Maybe we'll use it for FHE.

Keep the posts coming!

Great analogy! That would make for a great RS lesson! I bet the owners of that nice truck were just beside themselves!
