Goodmorning Birthday Boy!

Ethan enjoying his requested birthday breakfast of "Two donuts."
Riding the train
downtown

This year we again opted for the invite-one-friend party. He took is friend Logan and had party time at his favorite place, Pump It Up! I love what Ethan and Isaac call it, "Pump It Ump." It's a warehouse filled with inflatable bouncers- slides, basketball hoops, obstacle courses, and bouncy jump rooms. It's any boys dream come true. They had a blast!

Back at home for pizza and birthday cake.

This is a close up of Ethan's birthday cake which is really his creation. He told me he wanted a cake with colored marshmallows, sprinkles and transformers. Making the cake is always one of my favorite birthday things. It's always fun to see what we end up with.
Now my ode to my dearest most cutest little darling Ethan, who is 4 now. Ethan is great. I mean GREAT. I think he is often judged quickly as being agressive and trouble, but truly he is nothing of the sort. (I admit he can get aggressive if provoked, a little like his Mommy I guess). You see, Ethan has a heart of pure gold. He is honest, and sweet, and loyal, and very true to doing what he believes is right (this is where he sometimes finds himself in trouble). When he does something he knows is wrong he always apologizes usually with tears in his eyes. And Ethan is the best helper around, very rarely whines or complains, is very independent and a smart little firecracker. He is gentle and kind and treats Mason with such care, often protecting him from his older brother. He is very focused and when asked what he wants to do he will always tell you, "play playdough, and play games." Ethan is happy doing almost anything and when asked if he'd like to _______ (fill in the blank) lately his reply is, "oh, I'd love to!" Ethan loves to cuddle in the morning right after he wakes up and you can usually find him carrying around some sort of "cutie," usually a feather or fur of some sort. (Wait 'til I post pictures of his latest cutie, it's awesome.) Ethan also loves and looks up to Isaac. I would have to say even more than his Mommy or Daddy. On various occassions, after he has been gravely injured by Isaac and I am about to do Isaac in, Ethan will run to Isaac, wrap his little arms around him, and tell me not to punish Isaac. We all could use such mercy and forgiveness as that! So, as Ethan likes to hear me say, I say again today, Ethan, I love you with all my rainbow heart!

Happy birthday to your little guy! It looks like he had a great day. I love that Isaac seems to avoid the camera like our little Ryan does.
